Zusammenfassung: Patients with a lower limb amputation who apply for a bone-anchored prosthesis (BAP) already have signs of osteoarthritis (OA) of the ipsilateral joint proximal to the amputation level. Since axial loading is restored with the BAP, we have seen that the incidence of OA slightly increases over time.

Zusammenfassung: Results from a pilot study using a new patient-adjustable socket system are presented. During in-patient rehab after TF amputation, patients wore a new adjustable socket for a week. Patients reported improved comfort and greater satisfaction with the new socket compared to the standard socket.

Zusammenfassung: Specially designed printed low-cost and lightweight shear and pressure sensors were successfully integrated in a transfemoral amputee’s prosthetic socket.
